BRIGADE BLOG POST

December 5, 2024

As December marks the three-year anniversary of Scott Bailey’s passing, we take time to reflect on his life, his kindness, and the enduring legacy he left behind through the Bailey Brigade. Scott was uniquely thoughtful and super funny—a light in every room he entered. His kind nature made him the nurses' favorite, and his sense of humor brought joy to those who needed it most. Today, through the work of the Bailey Brigade, Scott continues to touch lives, offering hope and support to others facing difficult journeys.

The Bailey Brigade was founded with a mission that mirrors Scott’s spirit of compassion. Over the past three years, this "Army of Hope and Love" has supported nearly 200 local cancer patients through our Brigade Backpacks, filled with comfort care items designed to ease the challenges of treatment. These backpacks aren’t just practical—they are a symbol of our commitment to make sure no patient feels alone.

In addition to this, the Brigade has awarded four scholarships to local high school seniors pursuing careers in the health sciences field, helping to inspire a new generation of compassionate caregivers. We also provide much-needed copay and transportation assistance to qualifying patients, offering relief where it’s needed most.

Scott’s legacy is alive in each act of kindness that the Brigade extends to others. The success of Toasting Hope event, highlighted in November, is another way we celebrate Scott’s life and raise funds to continue our mission.  Bourbon is still available to purchase through the following link:

As we mark this anniversary, we invite you to join us in carrying Scott’s light forward. Whether by donating, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, you can be part of our mission—an Army of Hope and Love, continuing to make a difference in his name. Together, we keep Scott’s legacy alive.
